Meet the team

My name is Lindsey, founder of Dogtails and Dreams.  I love working with intelligent, high energy dogs and the owners committed to raising them well.

Whether it’s your crazy cocker, tenacious terrier, sensitive shepherd or velcro vizsla.  These breeds think fast, feel deeply and thrive when properly understood.  My mission is to ride the wave with dedicated owners that want to build confidence, connection and lasting skills so they can enjoy everyday life

Before Dogtails and Dreams, I spent many years as a Headteacher working with teenagers who had been excluded because their additonal needs hadn’t been recognised or supported.  That taught me to look beyond the surface behaviour and understand what drives it, the importance of meeting needs, building trust with clear structure and communication. The blend of educational leadership and real world experience shapes how I work- calm, practical guidance so owners feel confident, connected and capable of great things.

I share my life with a highly driven adolescent working shepherd who stretches my skills and deepens my understanding. It keeps me grounded in the realities my clients face raising and reinforce my belief: It isnt about endless training drills and micro management - when a dogs lifestyle needs are met and development is understood, alongside boundaries and structure, life with your dog becomes easier. It is not without challenge, but far more manageable and rewarding about endless training, its creating relationship and habits

Our approach: the 3 pillars of success

Leadership
The importance of connection and communication with your dog and your role in guiding them clearly and fairly.

Lifestyle
Shaping behaviour that fits
your life — Understanding their needs and breed for calm at home and focus out in the world.

Learning
Developing skills progressively, with the right input at the right time, so training actually sticks.

Together, these pillars create clarity, confidence, and freedom — for both ends of the lead.

What this gives you

  • Confidence that you’re meeting your dog’s needs without overdoing it
  • A stronger bond built on understanding, not constant correction
  • A dog that can switch between activity and calm
  • Clear guidance through puppyhood and adolescence
  • Reassurance that you’re on the right track — even as things change

This is about raising a dog you can freely live with and do things with.
